Detroit Toxic Release Sites
This map was the result of an analysis of how toxic waste release sites in Detroit correlate with higher or lower areas of minority populations. Sites are identified both in location and by toxic release type.
Gerrymandering in Detroit?
As a final project for Urban Planning Intermediate GIS, I performed an analysis of how recent Michigan Congressional District areas changed in terms of racial make-up, income status, and education level. This map is one of over 25 created for this project.
One of my first projects was an exploration of areas of the United States that might be more vulnerable than others to the hazards of hydrofracking. This map forms the base part of the analysis by identifying where key geological features converge. From this map areas of further investigation were defined.
